Visit our Open House

Looking for a break from the bustling atmosphere at the UIA World Congress of Architects? The Danish Association of Architects invites you to take a moment to unwind in our beautiful old rectory, a historic gem constructed between 1730 and 1732, right in the heart of Copenhagen. Throughout the UIA World Congress of Architects, our house and courtyard will be open to architects from around the globe, from morning to evening.

Whether you’re in need of a refreshing morning coffee accompanied by a delicious bun or a lunchtime sandwich, our doors are open and prices are fair. Drop by our house and meet some of the dedicated volunteers. We are open daily from 8 AM to 10 PM.

Morning events across Copenhagen:

Start your day with some vitalizing energy before moving on to the busy congress program. The Danish Association of Architects offers morning swim, yoga or training sessions at specially selected architectural sites.

Date: 4 July – 6 July between 6 and 7 PM

Take a morning dip at Kalvebod Bølge

Join us for a morning swim at Kalvebod Bølge by JDS Architects and Urban Agency. We meet at 7.30 am with JDS architects, who introduce us to the project before we enjoy a quick morning dip in the habor.

Morning yoga with a habour view at Ofelia Plads

Start your day with a yoga session at Ofelia Plads by Lundgaard & Tranberg. We meet at 7.30 am with Lundgaard & Tranberg architects, who will introduce us to the project before a yoga instructor takes us through a few yoga exercises.

Join the morning workout at Konditaget

Join us for a training session at Konditaget Lüders, by JaJa Architects. The parking house is transformed into a fantastic urban space with sports equipment at a height of 24 metres.

Walk & Talk: Share your thoughts with fellow architects

Join a Walk and Talk in Kongens Have, one of only two remaining renaissance gardens in Denmark. Get some fresh air, new acquaintances, and share your thoughts on sustainability, while walking the vibrant park. End the tour in our cozy court yard with a refreshment. We provide a walking kit and a partner.

Exhibition: Inspiring proposals for an alluring sustainable futre

Experience proposals for what an alluring sustainable future can look like when we exhibit six specially selected graduation projects at The Danish Association of Architects. The six projects address climate crisis, transformation, generational change and coexistence of nature, people and animals.

Explore the southern part of Copenhagen Harbor

Explore the southern part of Copenhagen Harbor with the former city architect, Jan Christiansen – we will see a residential and urban area where the water of the harbor and its canals play a special role. The inspiration comes from the Netherlands and Sjoerd Soeters (NL) is also behind the overall master plan together with the Danish Arkitema.

Explore the inner harbor area

Explore the inner harbor area of Copenhagen with the former city architect, Jan Christiansen and learn about the way the city delt with the many different political and architectural interests as well as the struggles that arose during the establishment of various new buildings. We pass the Opera, the Royal Theatre, a new attractive residential area, an ambitious parking garage under the water of the harbor and important recreational areas. And most recently, a new commercial and residential area with a harbor-side swimming pool by Kuma. We talk about the process – as well as evaluate the overall result!

Join us for a morning swim at Kalvebod Bølge by JDS Architects and Urban Agency. With Kalvebod Bølge, Copenhagen has gained an attractive urban space with a human scale in a part of Copenhagen’s harbor that was previously inaccessible and empty of people.
